No Seaside vacation would be complete without a stroll along its famous Promenade, better known as “The Prom” by locals. It stretches 1.5 miles long starting at 12th Avenue on the North end of town, to Avenue U on the South end of town, and features some of the best sunset viewing and people watching spots in town.

Discover the treasures that wash ashore along Seaside’s beautiful coastline. From unique shells and driftwood to fascinating sea glass, beachcombing offers a peaceful way to connect with the ocean’s natural beauty.

Just outside of Astoria, this short-but-rewarding historic trail features one of Northwest Oregon’s most iconic natural wonders. Cathedral Tree, a towering Sitka spruce, has stood for centuries, and offers hikers a stunning reminder of nature’s beauty, all amidst lush evergreen forests. 

Hikers can experience history and landscapes together on this scenic trail from Fort Clatsop to Sunset Beach. Traverse forests, wetlands, sand dunes, and coastal prairies on your way to a well-deserved reward in the form of panoramic beach views of the Pacific Ocean.

The Gearhart Ridge Path Trail is perfect for guests seeing a calm and leisurely hike. Located in nearby Gearhart, this urban trail features minimal elevation gain and slightly under 1.5 miles of out-and-back trail.

The Tillamook Head Trail is a quintessential Oregon hiking experience, and features a stunning promontory 1,200 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Hikers will be treated to little slices of history along the way as well, including an abandoned World War II radio station, and viewpoints once scouted by the Lewis & Clark Expedition.

Featuring nearly 5 miles of trail and an elevation gain of nearly 1,800 foot, Saddle Mountain marks the highest point in Northwest Oregon. This steep climb ultimately rewards those who make its journey with stunning panoramic views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and the mouth of the Columbia River.
