Seaside Attractions

Seaside Aquarium. A landmark since the 1920s, Seaside Aquarium offers outdoor fun and an opportunity to learn about the world under the sea. You’ll be entertained by frolicking Harbour seals, animated octopi, Dungeness Crabs, sea anemones, sea turtles, starfish, salmon, and even a Wolf Eel.
Located on the Promenade, the Aquarium features fish tanks, a touch tank, and a chance to feed the seals. Call 503–738–6211 or visit www.seasideaquarium.com.
Million Dollar Walk Broadway St. Known as the “Million Dollar Walk and a North Coast hotspot, Broadway Street, where lights are strung along trees during the holidays, features historical buildings, scrumptious eateries, kitschy shops, arcades, bars, and a mall with an antique carousel. Smack your friends around with bumper cars, grab a slice of pizza, play video games or buy kiting supplies. At night, stroll along Broadway to catch the entertainment at a number of nightspots.
Seaside Carousel Seaside Carousel. The Carousel in the Carousel Mall Downtown, features facades, horses and animals crafted from historic hand–carved originals owned by the San Francisco Carousel Museum. Festive tunes from the Carousel are authentic pipe organ arrangements of old favorites and classical pieces. This curious attraction is located in the center of the mall under a sky light and surrounded by unusual retail shops and benches.

Seaside Promenade. Stroll down Seaside’s historic ocean front Promenade, a 2.5 mile stretch past beautiful vacation homes and charming beach cottages. Reconstructed in the 1920s, this Seaside centerpiece at the end of Broadway features a “Turnaround” – the official end of the Lewis and Clark Trail – with a bronze statue of Lewis and Clark. With vintage street lamps and awesome views, you won't find another Prom like this on the West Coast.

South Seaside Business District. If you’re entering Seaside from the south, you’ll encounter eateries with a variety of themes, taverns, helicopter rides and amusement rides. To the west, you’ll spot what is essentially the “backside” of Tillamook Head, typified by big, rolling green hills and a spectacular cliff.  [Top]

Lewis and Clark Salt Works. Near the southern end of the promenade sits a replica of the salt cairn the Corps of Discovery used. Some members of the troop were sent south from Fort Clatsop to boil sea water for salt in late December of 1805. They returned in late February with three bushels of salt for the return home. You can find this replica along Lewis & Clark Way. This stop offers Annual Living History programs in the summer. For information, call 503–738–7065.  [Top]
